Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana is proud to announce the launch of their new A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) program.
The ABWK program is a nation-wide effort to serve low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. The Habitat for Humanity of NWI affiliate will be kicking off phase one of their ABWK program by building wheelchair ramps for qualified families in Lake County, Indiana.
ABWK is a partner to Habitat’s core building program. It allows us to serve a different population than we currently serve, yet follows the same basic doctrine for eligibility (need, ability to pay, willingness to partner). It is a direct fit with our mission to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope and will allow us to serve more families here in Northwest Indiana.
We will use volunteers to construct the ramps in partnership with Prompt Ambulance Service and Catholic Charities. We are looking to expand our program to include other local business partners that will help with the funding and volunteer staffing of the ramps we will be building through the ABWK program.
If you are interested in participating in the program please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at 219-923-7265. If you are interested in applying to become a qualified ABWK ramp recipient, please download and fill out the application by Clicking here. Drop off or mail the completed application to Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana, 6114 W. Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 Attn: ABWK.
